A 9-day journey from Rabat to the desert - Fez, and Chefchaouen

Day 1: Rabat

Arrival in Rabat, transfer to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

 

Day 2: Rabat – Marrakech

After breakfast, visit the Great heritage tower of Hassan and the Kasbah of Oudaya before heading to Marrakech. In the afternoon, meet your local guide for a tour of the historic monuments of the medina. You will visit the Badi and Bahia palaces, the Jewish quarter, and the Ben Youssef Madrasa. Dinner and overnight stay in a beautiful riad.

 

Day 3: Marrakech – Ait bin Haddou – Zagora

Departure from our accommodation in Marrakech at 8:00 am. We drive towards Ouarzazate, crossing the High Atlas Mountains with their beautiful scenery and Berber villages, where we will make several stops for photos. We will visit the Telouet kasbah, then cross the Unila valley to reach the village of Ait Ben Haddou, enjoy a tour of the famous kasbah which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, after lunch, we will continue visiting the Taurirt film studio and kasbah, then we will take the direction to Agdz and continue to Zagora to spend the night in a beautiful luxury bivouac, dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 4 : Zagora – Ouarzazate – Dades gorges

After breakfast we drive towards Agdza to visit the Tammugalt kasbah, then we continue to the Dades Gorges, pass the Skoura palm grove to visit the Amridil kasbah, then cross the Rose Valley to Kelaa Mguna, follow the Dades Valley to the Gorges, where we will spend the night in a local hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 5 : Dades gorges – Todra gorges – Merzouga

After breakfast we will visit Dades Gorges and continue to Todra Gorges, we will stop at the Berber village of Boumaln to enjoy the view of Dades Valley, then we will continue to Tinghir where we will visit the old Jewish quarter, then we will continue to Todra, after visiting the gorges our desert road will take us to Erg Chebbi dunes, we will drive through Tinajdad and Jorf and stop at Erfoud to visit fossils. We will then continue to Merzouga, where your camel guide will take you to a bivouac in the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will enjoy a beautiful sunset over the dunes and a delicious dinner by the bivouac fire.

 

Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Fez

After breakfast, we return to the village by camel and drive to Rissani, where we visit the large Tafilalt market and the mausoleum of Molay Ali Sherif. We then drive through Erfoud and the town of Errahidia. We will admire the magnificent scenery of the Middle Atlas, stop for lunch in Midelt, and then drive through the cedar forest and the town of Ifrane to reach your accommodation in Fez at the end of the day.

 

Day 7: Fez

A tour of the medina with a local guide who will show you the historical sites of Fez, the old Islamic schools, the Jewish quarter, and the gateway to the royal palace. Panoramic view of the medina. Dinner and overnight stay in your riad.

 

Day 8 : Fez – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we leave Fes for Chefchaouen, passing through the Rif Mountains, visiting the medina with its beautiful narrow streets, having dinner, and overnighting in one of the riads.

 

Day 9: Chefchaouen – Rabat

Return to Rabat via Volubilis and the town of Moulay Driss.  You will then travel to Rabat where you will be transferred to your hotel.
