The medina is home to religious schools such as the 14th-century Bou Inania and Al Attarine, both decorated with elaborate cedar carvings and ornate tile work.

8 Days Tour from Fes to Marrakech

DAY 1 : transfer from the aireport:

Our trip starts with a pick up from the airport to take you to Fes. You will spend the night in a Riad.

DAY 2 : FES sightseeing :

After having breakfast  in your riad we will start our trip around Fez, one of the most important cities of the kingdom, and actually it is believed to be the first built city by the Idrissids, it is the spiritual, cultural, scientific and artistic capital of Morocco, walking down its narrow ancient streets of the medina you would feel as if time had stopped in the middle age, we will visit historical sites and buildings like the Quaraouine mosque which is also considered as the first university to ever exist founded in 859. It is a prestigious center for the Arab world, its influence grew as the Marinids took charge over it. Fez was divided into two ^parts fortunately they were reunited by Almoravids. And in the 11th century Fez became one of the major cities of Islam. At sunset we will drive upwards to a wonderful hill where we can overlook the whole city in one scenery. After that we will spend the night in a nearby authentic Riad to rest and get ready for the next day.

DAY 3 : FEZ – Ifrane – ceder forest – sahara:

After having breakfast we will depart Fes and head southwards, we will pass by significant cities around the Atlas mountains such as: Ifran or as labeled the Switzerland of Morocco, due to its dignifying  weather, vast green landscapes, European architecture and important history in the shaping of Morocco. You will have the chance to wander in it before we stop at Azrou a nearby city mainly visited for its Cedar forest which contains a wide variety of apes and monkeys. We will continue driving by numerous authentic Berber villages like Timhdit, Zaida and Medilt. Our next stop would be Errachidia via the long series of high Atlas Mountains, the area is surrounded with the valley of palm trees, you can grow any kind of fruit and vegetables because the soil is fertile. The driving proceeds as we drive to Erfoud the capital of Fossils , it is believed that area was in a vast sea certain eras ago. As we approach Merzouga the sceneries change from mountainous to desert like. We will have supper and  spend the night in hotel nearby the dunes.

DAY 4 : MERZOUGA sightseeing :

Today will revolve around Sahara only, after you have breakfast we will visit Khamlia village known for its hospitality and Gnawa music, you will be meeting a lot of people inhabiting this area, they are welcoming and will be happy to receive you at their nomad tents, they would also share their lifestyle hacks without hesitation. We will also explore the old closed mines connecting the Moroccan and Algerian borders discovered by French years ago. We willhave lunch in a traditional restaurant we will have a traditional pizza or stuffed pie a specialty of the region. Later afternoon we will leave vehicles aside and ride camels to the nomad camp which is only 1h30min far. We will enjoy the sunset, make stops to take pictures whilst being over the high dunes. As we arrive we will have a yummy dinner with the locals under the rhythm of Berber drums and the moonlight. Make sure to wake up early as to witness the beauty of sunrise reflected upon the high dunes. Then we will return to the hotel where you will have breakfast and shower.

DAY 5 : MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGE – DADES VALLEY – OUARZAZATE :

Today we will embark on another mini tour around Sahara. We will firstly stop by Rissani or also called the old Sijlmassa, it is the center of ancient caravans from Toumboukto to Marrakech, we will stroll down the dignifying souk before we head towards Tinghir a very luscious landscape in the area. Our next stop will be Todgha gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in the kingdom; the gorges are the favorite spot for climbers around the world. We will have lunch in the gorges and then our journey continues to Dades valley and Roses city, the last is nearby Damskina a land that is known to produce multiple kinds of flowers. We will stop at one of the cooperatives to watch the process of extracting the essence from a flower and employ it in a certain product. Our road is still long as we drive via the 1000 kasbah road until you reach Ouarzazat the African Hollywood. , we will make sure to visit the massive and famous Atlas film studios where great movies like the Gladiator and kingdom of heaven were filmed. After having supper you will spend the night in a riad.

DAY 6 : OUARZAZATE – AIT BENHADDOU -MARRAKECH :

Today we will leave to Marrakech on the way we will stop by numerous landmarks such as the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, Telouet a berber village situated in the High atlas region and Glaoui Kasbah which belonged to a noble and wealthy family in the south. We will have lunch in Talouet and hit the road to Marrakech through the high mountain pass Tizi N Tichka.  You will spend the night in a riad.

DAY 7 : MARRAKECH CITY TOUR :

For your seventh day we will fully explore the beloved Marrakech, most tourists prefer stopping by Marrakech before they leave. This charming is the perfect combination of both modern and traditional Moroccan print, you could see that in its buildings in the ancient medina, you can start off by paying a visit to Jamaa el Fna square, a unesco worldwide heritage site. You can have a freshly squeezed lemon juice from the aligned dozens of shops, and then observe the snake charmers, acrobats, storytellers, musicians…. besides the square there are few recognizable museums like Dar sidi Said and Bahia Palace. You can also visit the Saadain tombs and have lunch there before we steer again to the Koutoubia Mosque although non muslims aren’t allowed to enter yet you still can marvel at the formidable architecture of the ancient civilizations. Late afternoon you can stroll down the streets of this fascinating city. You will spend the night in a traditional Riad.

DAY 8 : MARRAKECH – AIRPORT:

You will have time to wander in the city until we drive you to the airport so that you will catch you flight in time.
